Film
Thank you for visiting our film page. Vigilante Project was originally conceived and written for the big screen, but recent breakthroughs have led to development as a cable TV series. Whether big or small screen, Oscar® or Emmy® we just want to bring our vision to the masses.
Log Line
“When his kid sister is kidnapped, raped, and murdered, an apathetic college student finds purpose in tracking down the man responsible, and risks everything to save another little girl being held by the same man.”
The Trailer
We shot this trailer to introduce the basic premise of the film, and to showcase the character’s costume, fighting style, and weapons. This demo reel was made with 1 camera, only natural lighting, one boom microphone, and a whole lot of patience. It was edited on a laptop using Final Cut Pro.
Summary
If you are not yet familiar with the Vigilante Project story, below you will read the general premise for the film. This brief introduction is only the tip of the iceberg. There are lots of twists and turns that we simply cannot reveal just yet. Be warned, this is not a children’s story. This is specifically for adults 18 years of age and older.
VIGILANTE PROJECT
Writer’s Guild Registration Number: 1410359
Sick of his alcoholic stepfather’s abusiveness, one night, ten year old Alvin Gentry took matters into his own hands and ended it. Cleared of criminal charges but forced to undergo years of mind numbing counseling, Alvin was a cat declawed for most of his life. With no father around, he was forced to help raise his baby sister while his newly single Mother worked two jobs to get by.
After a childhood of counseling, overmedication, and mounting responsibilities, as an adult Alvin is at best, apathetic. An NYU sophomore, he spends most of his time smoking weed and playing video games. About the only thing that Alvin takes seriously is his Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training. Never one to express his emotions, to Alvin the cage represents freedom. The sport’s pain is a welcome break from his numbness, and serves as a reminder that he is in fact still alive. Alvin trains daily, hoping to someday fulfill his dreams of making it to the UFC, and of a career as a professional fighter. That is, until something else steals his focus.
When Alvin’s now 12-year-old sister Alicia is kidnapped, he initially trusts the police to find her. After a few weeks, the authorities suggest that he and his Mother consider her dead, and move on with their lives. They do. Months later Alicia’s body if found dumped on the side of the road. When the autopsy reveals that she was repeatedly raped and only recently murdered, Alvin detests his initial indifference.
As the investigation stalls, Alvin slips into a deep, angry, depression. Having dropped out of school, no longer training, his bills piling up, and his life crumbling around him, a chance encounter leads Alvin to the idea of finding his sister’s killer himself.
However, Alvin can’t just become a vigilante, he has to learn how. What would you do? Where would you start? As he follows the clues Alvin must make choices and take actions from which there is no turning back. Along the way he falls in love with the exhilarating pain and risk of a vigilante lifestyle, and seeks counsel from a local Catholic priest. But when Alvin discovers that there is more to his sister’s disappearance than meets the eye, he must take on more than he ever expected, risking it all to save another little girl that is being held by the same man.
