Sarah Reinertsen

Yvette Avenue Productions is pleased to announce that we are working with amazing athlete and motivational speaker Sarah Reinertsen and her company Always Tri, to create a new character in our independent comic book series Vigilante Project. The character’s name is Rebecca Robertson and her look is based on Sarah herself. Rebecca, an amputee athlete, is the protagonist’s apartment manager who later becomes his love interest.

Originally conceived as both a film and a comic book, Vigilante Project has since evolved and is being shopped as a cable TV series.

  • Sarah was the first female leg amputee on a prosthetic limb to complete the Ironman® Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
  • She was born with proximal femoral focal deficiency, a bone-growth disorder which eventually led to her becoming an above-the-knee amputee at the age of seven.
  • Sarah is a spokesperson for Össur and the Challenged Athletes Foundation, and is sponsored by Nike, Oakley, Canondale, and more.
  • She was featured on the cover of Runner’s World and was named one of the first eight “Heroes of Running” in the magazine.
  • She has appeared on the cover of Triathlete magazine, Competitor Magazine, and Max Sports & Fitness magazine.
  • Sarah holds/held world records in every running distance, from sprint distances, to half and full marathons, to all the various triathlon distances, including Ironman®.
  • She competed on The Amazing Race 10 (2006).
  • She works as a motivational speaker.
  • She won the 2006 Best Female Athlete with a Disability ESPY Award.
  • In October 2009, Sarah was featured on 1 of 6 different covers for the inaugural Body Issue of ESPN the Magazine.

Sarah at WonderCon!!!

Sarah came to WonderCon!!! She and her husband Brooke stopped by to check out Vigilante Project and we snapped a few pictures. But that’s not all. Sarah was kind enough to sign a couple copies of book one, and an 11×17 poster of her character Rebecca Robertson. That’s not all. Our favorite cover girl will be doing an official signing held in our booth at the Comikaze Expo in September so mark your calendars!
